Design Wall Monday

Another Design Wall Monday and I have a finished top to show!
Here is my jelly roll quilt along top in Plume fabric
with a partial piano key border:

I am still cleaning up after the 70 Circles quilt.
Leftovers and a few kid fabrics ended up in this baby quilt;
nothing sewn yet - just a lay-out of about 35" square.

And I finally took care of the lighthouse / ship fabric,
that has been 'sailing around' for far too long...
I added some strips - have to play around some more;
losely following Mary's "Quick Strippie".

Well, that should give me
enough mindless sewing for the week ahead!
It works better for me if I have things prepared
and just commit to a few strips or circles a day.
Otherwise I would never get anything sewn...
They may not be sophisticated tops/ quilts,
but they work for me :-)
and they help my stash control / report!

Please go to Judy's blog and check out other design walls.
Enjoy your week,
Barb

  1. Nice work Barb - I really like all your projects and the strippy quilt is so cute - will that be a backing or a top? If you ever need any fabric to add more circles or whatever, come shopping at my house - it's free and my husband will be eternally grateful!! (me too!) Hope your week goes well for you - be safe.

  2. Like the partial piano border - great way to use up those small pieces that always seem to be present.

    The strip quilt is cute - I also have a bunch of nautical prints that I need to thin out. It would be good way to use up fabric and have some baby quilts on hand.

  4. I also like the partial piano key border--helps break up some of the busy-ness. The fabrics you chose are so pretty! I have bookmarked Mary's Strippie method too. I'm thinking of putting together a quick Christmas throw or two.

  5. The partial piano key looks great - I still don't have the border on mine. Have to get to that soon.
