My borders may disappoint some people, but the outer border was my focus fabric or more so a guide line for the colors of the quilt. And as mentioned before: pieced borders never fit in my world, no matter the calculations and attempts of a correct 1/4 inch seam.
Well, I like it - I loved the border fabric when I first saw it and believe it completes the quilts perfectly! Now off to find fabric for the "monster" backing which should put quite a dent in my stash...
This week I finally got Quiltmakers magazine in the mail - and when I saw the pattern 'Hoo's in the Forest?' by Julie Herman I thought it would be perfect for a 'skiing bear' fabric in my stash. Here is what I managed to cut and lay out:Yep, I know: it's another project, but I needed something fun and small (and from stash). Still mulling over the greens for the trees - maybe I find something better next week.
I love your Carolina Christmas quilt! (I'm making one, too.) I especially love the outer border fabric.
