Design Wall Monday

A quick look at all the quilty projects that are going on at my house.
* Neptune Hexagon quilt: the half blocks are finally sewn together & the last 6 strip sets are don - I just; need to cut them and decide on which block design to use
* Cowboy Circle Around: top finished, backing sewn, trying to decide on the quilting.

* and finally 4 Summer Siesta Blocks with the final(?) sashing material choice

Please go to Patchwork Times and look at so many other talented quilters and their design walls.

Design Wall Monday

Good morning!
First of is my slowly growing Hexagon Quilt in Neptune. I am finally convinced that you cannot go wrong with Neptune, no matter how you match up the different colors, they just go perfectly together. Love hexagons and probably will do more after the Hexagon Quilt Along is over - so many possibilities! Here is a mixed hex star block:
And the 2 QfK with the borders finally sewn on, one with a yellow and one with a red first border:
Please go to Judy's blog and have a look at other design walls.
Happy sewing,

Design Wall Monday

It was another rainy weekend here in SE Michigan which means: I had time to sew and catch up on several projects.
First up is the 5th block of the jelly roll quilt sampler:

Followed by 3 'Quilt for kids' leader-ender projects that I managed to squeeze in while finishing the 'Simply a Bloom' top. They still need some borders though:
And last but not least I finally got to sew the 1st & 2nd Hexagon quilt along blocks together. I am still 1 step short before having caught up, but I like my Neptune blocks! There are 2 mixed blocks in the bottom right corner - they were leftovers and I will find a spot for them...
And finally the 'Spice Socks' are pretty much both at the same stage: ready for the toe!
That's it from my corner of  SE Michigan. Please go and have a look at other design walls listed on Judy's blog!

Design wall Monday

This week I am pretty pleased with my progress on several fronts - and that doesn't happen too often... So here we go:

First off is the hopefully final lay-out of "Simply a Bloom" - with all blocks done; just the applique still needs to get sewn down and is currently only fused on. This quilt has grown on me, a lot and now I really do love it!

Then I joined the Hexagon-Quilt-Along and started cutting & sewing the first installment. I am using the Neptune fabric line - and this is my first time using a 60 degree pyramid ruler. The next instructions should be up soon.

And last but not least I finished block # 3 of the jelly-roll quilt along - just in time.

That's it from my end, please got and have a look at other design walls at Judy's Patchwork Place.

Enjoy your week,
Barb
