Last week I participated
in a fantastic workshop
with Kathy Doughty
in Brantford, Canada.
Have a look at the mosaic of my
"Soul Searching" blocks
(pattern can be found in Kathy's book "Making Quilts")
What a learning curve,
mixed with lots of laughter,
great people & food.
It truly has been
one of the best workshops
I have taken!
The preparation for the class
made me appreciate my stash.
I loved to reacquaint myself
with a major part of my fabrics.
So if you ever have the chance
of taking a class with Kathy,
go for it!
While my blocks are not sewn yet
and 3 additional blocks
in green, orange and blue
are still in the making
the quilt already looks like a winner!
Linking up to
Happy sewing,
Barbara
Hello Barbara. I read your post and it seems so connected. I was born in Detroit and grew up in St Clair Shores, MI. Then I married a Canadian and lived 12 years in Brantford, Ontario, plus a few in BC. But it was so ironic when I found your blog. I know you are not looking for a geneology report, so will just stop in to say hello to a fellow quilter1
ReplyDeleteI really love this design, can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteYour Soul Searching is looking great. I'm also making that quilt through Angela's Rainbow Scrappy Challenge-a block a month and I'm behind!
ReplyDeleteYou've gotten a lot done - The fabrics do pop when they have such variety. I see many familiar prints - happy memories!
ReplyDeleteYour Soul Searching is lovely, aren't the blocks huge!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. The colors just pop with the black and white!
ReplyDeleteI went to the modern wedge workshop at the Red Red Bobbin on Wednesday last week. My friend Debbie and I had a great time. Your quilt is looking good. I may have to make that quilt too some day.
