Quilt of Valor

I just had a look at Judy's blog and guess what I saw:
my Quilt of Valor top is currently on her longarm machine!
She picked a perfect cheery backing and it gets a baptist fan.
This is the very first quilt made by me that gets professionally quilted
and once it is done it will be shipped to Alycia in Colorado for distribution.
Here is the quilt top again - shortly before it was shipped to Judy:

I hope it soon will be enjoyed by the new owner!

Memorial Day Quilt - final

Yesterday I mailed the MDQ top to Judy - and didn't manage to post a final picture. Here it is, pieced borders and all:
Happy sewing, Barb

Memorial day Quilt

Ok, not quite done, but the pieced borders are on and they look pretty decent:

Design Wall Monday

Late, but finally here are the current pictures of the Memorial Day Quilt that is on my design wall:
all blocks have been sewn together, waiting for the first 2 non-pieced borders.
And I have already cut and sewn the strips for the pieced borders. Yes, I will try to do Judy's pieced border - this is a first. I may have to re-evaluate this statement once they are sewn, but that's the plan. When I measured the current top size, I was right on target! That has never happened before, so I thought: it's now or never to try to make a pieced border fit.
And here are the border strips lined up on my ironing board, waiting to get cut. I still think I will be able to make Judy's deadline and get the top in the mail on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Please have a look at other design walls listed at Judy's place!
I better get cutting and sewing to make it happen today,
Barb

Memorial Day Quilt - Day 4

What can I say: I finished all 18 blocks from day 3 of Judy's Memorial Day Quilt. And 2 blocks are completed for today - that means 15 more blocks to go... tomorrow...

Good night,

Memorial Day Quilt - Day 3

Another quick post with the current status of the Memorial Quilt: I managed to sew 10 blocks (so 'just' 8 blocks short...)! I didn't quite meet the daily goal, but all in all not too bad either - at least for my standards.
Here is the stack of finished blocks:
Good night,

Memorial Day Quilt - Day 2

The 2nd day of the Memorial Day Quilt by Judy - and it has happened... I am: BEHIND.
Well, I tried and here are the results: everything is cut, but the final sewing didn't happen - yet. The units on the left were today's part - and you can see the other 2 half finished units on the right.

Hope to catch up - soon,
Barb

Memorial Day Quilt - Day 1

On rather short notice I decided to join Judy in her Memorial Day quilt along - and maybe skip the Mystery Quilt. So today is day 1 - and I am still caught up. Let's see: that may be the only day I will be on time - so I better post about it...

Right now it doesn't look particularly exciting, but her are my half square triangles. One of my conditions was to use fabrics from stash only. So this is what I could find in lt/ med/ dk blue, a red and background/ light color in the necessary amounts.
Good night,
Barb
