Design Wall Monday

Late, but finally here are the current pictures of the Memorial Day Quilt that is on my design wall:
all blocks have been sewn together, waiting for the first 2 non-pieced borders.
And I have already cut and sewn the strips for the pieced borders. Yes, I will try to do Judy's pieced border - this is a first. I may have to re-evaluate this statement once they are sewn, but that's the plan. When I measured the current top size, I was right on target! That has never happened before, so I thought: it's now or never to try to make a pieced border fit.
And here are the border strips lined up on my ironing board, waiting to get cut. I still think I will be able to make Judy's deadline and get the top in the mail on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Please have a look at other design walls listed at Judy's place!
I better get cutting and sewing to make it happen today,
Barb

  5. Good for you Barb!! Pieced borders always make the quilt even more special and if your blocks came out with the perfect measurements, the borders will be a breeze! Enjoy your day - see you Thursday!
