Stash Report

Ok, another Sunday means another stash report - and I have to fess up. Yikes.
But I have a real good excuse (?) - yesterday was my birthday and I bought some fabric for specific projects. Does that count as an excuse? Well, if that doesn't, what about: I am a chocoholic, just imagine what would have happened if I had spent the fabric money on chocolate... scary thought and I probably would be sick right now and heavier.
So here it goes: first the good news that I finished the blocks for Simply a Bloom; then I cut fabric into squares for Bumble Beans Basic Home Gather. All this accounts for 5 1/4 yards of fabric used this week.
Now to the 'other' news of what was added: when my parents gifted me my first Kaffe Fassett book earlier this year, I fell once again for his beautiful fabrics and quilt designs. So seeing some of his fabric on sale for about $3 /yard, I could not resist and bought some. And then some.
The stripes are for "Abgekuerzt" (translation something along "Short cut"; I have the German version of "Quilt Romance"). The beautiful re-pink flower selection will be used for something like his "Italian Tiles" quilt approach.
Luckily all this still keeps me in the 'Black used fabric' area - and I will focus on that fact!
Stash Report week 16 / 2010:
Fabric used this week: 5.25 yards
Fabric used year to date: 86.75 yards
Fabric added this week (eeek): 24.5 yards
Net used for 2010: 24.5 yards

Moving right along to the fitness report: I have had a good week, even though I didn't get to skate. I just couldn't spare the time to drive to and from the park and opted for walks out of my front door instead. One visit to the fitness center yesterday, showed once again: if I don't go I get more and easier stressed out. You'd think I would get this, one of these days, but heck no. I fall off KNOWING I should go and it will make me feel better. That much for the interference of the human factor...
Fitness Report week 16 / 2010:
Visits at LifeTime: 1
Walks: 4
Total Cardio: 5 hrs

That's it from SE Michigan,

  2. What gorgeous fabric Barb!! Can't wait to see the pattern you will be using. I think buying fabric on your birthday is permissible. You've really used alot this year so accent the positive!

  3. Happy Birthday. A girl should be able to buy fabric on her birthday guilt free. It also should be guilt free when bought for a specific project. It isn't as tasty as chocolate but certainly better for the weight. Now don't make the new fabric wait....get sewing!

  4. $3 a yard!!!! Yeah, what a great price. I can't wait to see what you make with it. I am the same way about the gym, if I don't go I don't feel myself. I have a long way to go to be fit but working on it daily is the only way!!
