Badges and more

Wow, I finally managed to add some side bar badges. Yes, I know: it isn't that difficult, but I wasn't successful in the past. Go figure.
As for the Shadow Garden Quilt - here is the last picture of the project with stems. The applique shapes still need to be fused to the background for the final lay-out ( I used steam-a-seam 2). No final solution yet for finding a nice applique stitch on my machine.
I also finished all blocks for the Carolina Christmas Mystery Quilt! Once my 'design floor' is no longer occupied, I will post a picture of the complete lay-out.

Yesterday's New Year's Eve fun run/ walk on Belle Isle was real nice - and I hope to make it a new tradition of mine! Even though there were snow flakes in the air and the temperature was hoovering around the freezing mark, there were about 1000 runners and walkers. What a perfect way to mark the last day of the year - and apparently it has been happening for the last 40 years.
