Craft Book Month

Every September CraftBuds hosts
the Craft Book Month challenge.

All you have to do is
show a project you made this year
following a pattern in a craft book.
Should be easy enough -
And did I mention there are prices to win :-)
At least I do have
quite a few quilting books.
Maybe too many?

Well, I made
"Flower Bed"
from a pattern in
by Joan Ford.

I adjusted the measurements,
added a scrappy border
to fulfill the wheelchair quilt size
my quilt guild is collecting.

Even better:
Did I mention I used up
some of my fabric scraps?
That's always good, right!?
I like the projects in the book
and sure have enough scraps
to try a few more.

Come and join the fun
and link up
until September 30th!

September goal setting party - ALYoF

After having successfully
completed my August goal,
I need to chose
a new goal for September.

So how about this one:
get the binding on my charity quilt
"Flower Bed": ( Scraps Plus One - book).
Binding: my least favorite thing to do...
and yes, it will be machine sewn.
But that's the goal,
the clock is ticking...
Come and join Melissa and Shanna
for ALYoF

Once the binding is done
I can also link up to the
since it is a pattern out of a book
and was completed in September 2014.
Nice!

Got to dig for binding fabric
and get started,
Barb

September - Craft Book Month 2013

Just at the beginning of September

and wanted to enter -
but it needed to be a simple project.

and chose her pattern 'Coming Home' - perfect!

Going through my stash
I found a Halloween charm pack
and got started.
And this morning
just a few hours before the deadline,
I managed to finish my project.
Meet 'Simply Halloween':

I personalized the pattern a bit
and left out the outer triangles,
because it didn't fit my Halloween theme.
I quilted it with Random Stars EZ boards.
Additionally I used Susie's Magic Binding
to get the cute orange flange.

Thanks Camille,
I love the pattern!
Simply Halloween will be hanging
on my wall here shortly!

Thanks to Craft Buds and their inspiration
of actually using and creating things from Craft Books!

Happy sewing and crafting,
Barb
