New Year's Eve Luau - Pat Sloan

I love Pat's idea of a New Year's Eve Luau
and am adding my project to her linky list.
So I will be working on
my Amy Butler Hapi Mystery quilt top -
and hope to end up with a completed top
before the New Year is starting.
Status:

  • Blocks are all sewn
  • Setting triangles: calculate size & cut
  • Corner triangles: calculate size and cut
  • Sew the top together
Yes, I have shown a similar picture before,
but nothing has been done since...
Let's hope I can meet my New Year's Eve challenge!

Off to get a calculator
to get my setting & corner triangles started,

3 binding quest - DONE!

This afternoon the last of my 3 quilts looked like this:
But now it has joined the rest of the bunch:
3 quilts, bound,
ready for a wash and then to be sent to BASICS:

And all in time for Pat's FIU = finish it up in August challenge!

Now I really am ready for a new project -
and no bindings for me for a while...

Two down!

And another quilt for BASICS is bound -
this means there just one left on my binding quest:

I hope you got some sewing in this weekend.

One down!

Ok, my binding quest is coming along nicely:
one done and 2 more to go.
It started earlier this evening with this:
And now it has become this:

(yes, it's a machine binding)
A few more threads to bury and
this baby quilt will be done for BASICS!
The clock is ticking:
Pat's FIU ends on August 31!
Come and join
and make a difference!

Baby quilts - finish it up

You may have seen these quilts before: they have been waiting for binding for quite some time...Bindings just don't excite me - nor am I any good at them.

But I joined Pat Sloan's August Finish it up challenge - and my challenge will be to get these bindings done by the end of August. Once completed the quilts will go to NYC to the BASICS quilt drive started by Victoria from bumble beans.

Please wish me luck, I am getting out my walking foot right now to get started... oh wait, I have to cut the binding strips first.
