Star Struck .... quilted

Hah, another almost finish this week:
I just pulled Star Struck ( by Bonnie Hunter) of the frame!
I quilted it sideways,
so the start quilt row is on the left side and
the end on the right side in the picture.
Quilted with the Random Star EZ board, what else;-)

Ok, back to Anita's Arrowheads.
Have a good one,
Barb

Stash Report 6 / 2011

It was a slow sewing week and when I saw the snow falling again on Saturday, I figured this is a perfect time to sew another backing - this time for Star Struck (free Bonnie Hunter pattern). Found a batting piece that fits, reloaded my frame and I even got one row quilted - see picture for proof. I also gave some fabric to Judy in Michigan and that was all the fabric usage for this week.

Stash Report Week 6 / 2011:

Used this Week: 4.5 yards
Used year to Date: 34.95 yards
Added this Week: 0 yrds
Added Year to Date: 4.75 yrds
Net Used for 2011: 30.2 yards

Not too bad and I hope I can resist buying fabric for yet another while...

Please go here to see other stash reports!

I can't seem to shake this cold/ flu that has dragging me down and I am just too exhausted when I get back home from work. Hopefully this weekend's rest will help me get back on my feet!
Snowy greetings from Michigan,

Design Wall Monday

I had set as a goal last week to get the rows of Star Struck sewn -
and I made it! I even got 3 rows connected and
hope to have a 'borderless top' for the next DWM.

And I followed your comment advice and
auditioned a lighter blue for a 1st border - I like it.
Thanks so much for your input!
I know - not the most exciting DWM, but at least I am moving ahead!
And have kept from starting another project...
That's a good thing!

Design Wall Monday

All Sunday long it has been snowing here which means
I got more accomplished than I thought I could!
I finished quilting another baby quilt and just pulled it off the frame.

And I have been sewing blocks of the Star Struck Quilt.
The top 2 rows are done - so there is enough sewing left for the week to come.
Hmm, maybe finishing the blocks of a row per day could work;
with 6 rows left I could be done with the blocks by Saturday...

What is your opinion on putting a small dotty border on Star Struck?
And then maybe using some of the bonus HST for a 2nd border?

I am open for suggestions!

Please hop on over to Judy's blog and
have a look at lots of other beautiful design walls!

Enjoy,

Stash Report

Another week is done and for me it was a fitness week. Somehow I didn't feel up for sewing, so I went for a walk and the Annual Reindeer Run and 4 visits to the Fitness Center! Not bad - even though it does not help my stash report. Yesterday I quilted a quilt and I have been adding to Bonnie Hunter's Star Struck blocks from the recent workshop for a total of 1/2 a yard.

Here you can see the bonus HST's piling up
(photos of all blocks will be on tomorrow's Design Wall)

Stash Report Week 49 / 2010:

Fabric used this week: 0.5 yrd
Fabric used year-to-date: 200.2 yrds
Fabric added this week: 0 yrds
Fabric added year-to-date: 146.9 yrds
Net used in 2010: 53.3 yrds

Well, I better get back to sewing the Star Struck blocks together and get at least the top done this year...
How did you do this week for stash busting? Please check out the stash busting warriers at Judy's Patchwork Place!
Enjoy your Sunday,

Design Wall Monday

After having spent a ton of hours on the Wedding Quilt
with finishing the top & the backing,
loading it and starting the quilting,
I guess it is finally  time for a picture,
even though it doesn't show much....

Can you believe it: every bobbin lasts me for 2 rows only -

urghhh, it sure is a big quilt!

Whenever I needed a break from 'Wedding' sewing,
I added some more block to the Star Struck top.

And I added some Anita's Arrowhead blocks as well.
Maybe I should be doing a 5 x 5 layout -
and add a few more blocks...
(oops, one of the blocks is turned the wrong way).
I really like the secondary pattern of the solid squares
with the four patch and X's!

That's it from my corner in SE Michigan.
Please enjoy oher design walls listed at Judy's!

Design Wall Monday

Just a quick - and late post of my design wall.
Here you can see the started Star Struck
from Bonnie's workshop on Saturday.
I am not as far as I want to be,
but am concentrating on the Wedding Quilt...
A lot of the units are half done, so it should be a fast one
when I get back to sewing on it!

Happy sewing,
